![]() ![]() Toukiden 2 puts players into the boots of this mysterious Slayer, who is accompanied by a unique cast of compelling characters: Hakase, a professor keen to learn the truth of the world, Tokitsugu, a Machina imbued with a human soul, Gwen, a young British Slayer and master of sword and shield, Benizuki, a kind-hearted fellow considered to be the strongest Slayer in town, and Homura, an ex-thief turned Slayer who wields a chain whip. Ten years later, and with no memory of the past, that Slayer awakens in Mahoroba Village. In the midst of their fierce battle, a giant demon emerged, and opened a portal that swallowed a lone Slayer. Pathetic. Here’s an overview of the game, via Koei Tecmo:ĭuring an event known as the Awakening, when Oni ravaged the world and left it in ruins, a group of Slayers – defenders of mankind – set out to defend the city of Yokohama and drive back an attacking force of Oni. I still think Soul Sacrifice Delta was the best hunting game om Vita, and also, Toukiden 2 Vita port seemed. I applied some weird reshade presets that make it look more like Toukiden 1 on Vita, turned on my own selexted oriental creepy music, and play as the most realistic looking asian guy I could make (so tired of generic anime moe bs at this point). How can developers ignore such simple things. That's right, I can't fet over the music in this game too. At this point I just mute them, skip through story and only leave fx sounds on. The othet things that annoy me are the voice acting and characters both in visual design and nareative. Also, since I had no problems with small areas in toukiden 1 (they felt big to me due to great art direction) the open world feels like a cheap padding. The jarring transitions between clearly defined ZONES make it feel so damn artificial. Maybe it's just me, but the world feels way more poorly thought out in visual department, and kinda lacks any strong atmosphere. The open world, the aesthetics of the world. Since I gave Toukiden 2 a go about 18 times since release (one being two days ago) it makes me puzzled ehy didn't I enjoy the sequel. Needless to say I got really excited for the Toukiden 2, especially since it's comming to pc, meaning I can maybe rope at lwast one of my friends to hunt with me (spoiler: I didn't even come close to that). The framerate felt really smooth and graphics seemed like it was made for Vita. I would also like to point out that the Vita port was excellent. Finished the game, and then proceeded just grinding stuff, to see how many of the big ass boss battles I can take kne after the other. Also, since I wanted to challenge myself, I mostly played solo, since the companions were so good, it made a game too effortless for my edgy dark souls hardenned ass. I think the premise of the story helped with that in some part. Younreally delt like you were a steanger in the strange land, and for the most part, the atmosphere felt intimidating, exotic and beautiful. What I really enjoyed was the color correction and environment designs. The game really met my expectations, with only thr writing and some character design here and there being a bit too anime for my liking. Since I had some positive experience in Monster Hunter psp games and was a fresh Dark Souls fanatic, I bought the game for Vita without much delay. I remember seeing some reviews for Toukiden Kiwami for Vita and getting excited about battling interesting looking enemies in a very strange looking environment.
